Thanks for doing this! I was too excited each time I got a new tile set and never took pictures before breaking them out.

Whew! It took me about a solid 12 hours, but thanks to your photos I was able sort out all 26 tile sets that I have. Now that they’re sorted I need to mark them with your color code. I think I’m going to do the coding each time that I take tiles out for use in a game though.

I’m pleased that the pictures proved useful. Now that I have all my tiles sorted into sets, I plan to mark them as I use them. No need to do all at once.

    Wow! Thanks.

    What a great resource.

I really hope these are not discontinued. I have been combining these with 3d dungeon tiles like Dwarven Forge and Dungeonstone.

    Peace

Your blog is immensely helpful, especially for a brand new DM. I am also happy to see recent additions. I was starting to feel like I missed the boat since most sites and online tools haven’t had updates in a few years.
This page is very helpful so I can decide which packs I need to get for my upcoming adventures.
Thanks for all of the help and awesome ideas!

I don’t suppose you have any plans to do the same for GameMastery/Pathfinder Flip Maps and Map Packs?

Like most people I use a mix of them all…

Thankyou for the time, energy and thought for this useful tool. I have all the sets but as you can guess, organizing them is tricky. This allows me to have an idea of what I have and where it may be.

    Again- thankyou.

Hi DMDavid, your gallery and colour coding is excellent. I am currently going through my boxes and sorting them out. However, I noticed you have not got pictures for any of the master sets. Is that because the majority (if not all?) are from previous sets? Do they have exactly the same fronts and backs? If so would it not be easier to mark them from their original set rather than from the master set?
I have provided my members with a link to your fantastic website.

      Hi Andy,
I would love to add the Master Sets to the gallery, but by the time I took the pictures, I had punched the sets and tossed the sheets. Oops. If anyone has unpunched master sets they would like to photo, I would love to add the images.

The tiles in the Master Sets duplicate the most useful tiles in each category, but I don’t think the sheets are the same.

      Thanks for the kind words!

          Hi Jessie,
I’ve added gallery pages for the City and Wilderness tiles. Thanks for providing the photos that appear on those pages!

Thank you for this set list. I recently started gm’ing a Star Wars campaign & have spent so much time trying to find Star Wars tiles to use with my campaign. (The SW tile set list is beyond limited.) After finding your D&D dungeon tile list, I’ve realized I don’t need to continue my search because D&D has more than enough tile sets to suit my needs. This page is a much needed source of inspiration & inspiration!

    Hi DMDavid
I’m still sorting my tiles out, having bought a huge box of tiles of 8 sets (I’m glad to say all but one set are complete!), but I’ve come across a few tiles which look like WotC tiles but I can’t seem to locate them. One rather large one even has dungeons and dragons logo on the low right corner – its double sided and has a very attractive cavern floor plan with purple crytals erupting fromseveral point. DID they do promo tiles? Does anyone have scans or lists of any they know of? Intriguing!

      Hi Andy,
Some of the in-store events used Dungeon tiles, but as far as I know, they all used tiles from existing sets. I don’t recognize the tiles that you describe. I would like to discover their source.

It’s worth nothing that my experience with dry-erase and wet-erase markers on Dungeon Tiles is: don’t do it! I have several tiles that now have permanent (albeit, somewhat faint) marks from experimentation with both wet & dry erase markers.

From now on, I’m going to stick with either props on top of the tiles, drawing on my vinyl grid, or perhaps experimenting with some sort of clear overlay. My two cents!

      Hi Jesse,
Thanks for sharing your real-life experience with dry-erase and wet-erase markers on Dungeon Tiles! I’ll keep putting my Plexiglas sheet on the tiles and marking on that.

Hi DM David. Thanks for your great source of information about the tilesets published. It is, as others have mentioned, a very powerful resource (so I can avoid buying tiles I dont need)

Is there a particular reason why the Dungeon Tiles Master Set: The City, The Dungeon and The Wilderness, all from 2010 are not in your gallery ?

If you want to add them , I just took some pics of them with my phone. Do you want me to share a Dropbox folder with all the images of those sets tiles?

Keep up the great work DM David !

    /Christian

      Hi Christian,
I’m missing the master sets because I separated those tiles before I decided to create my photo gallery. Oops. I would love to add images from the master sets. I particularly need pictures of the Dungeon set. Thanks!

    DTRC Sheet 15A/B = DU6 2A/B

FROM THE DTMSC YOU ARE MISSING THE 8X8 GAZEBO TILE SIDE
FROM THE DU2 YOU ARE MISSING 1A/B TILE (CONTAINING COURTYARD PLATFORM/STORAGE BASEMENT) AND THE 6A/B TILE (STREETS AND SEWERS)
FROM DN6 YOU ARE MISSING 4,5,6A/B MISCELLANEAOUS WALLS/TOWERS/MOATS/DRAWBRIDGE

So the quick overview, a copy of the Dungeon Tiles Master Set-City minus one 8×8 representation of a gazebo (no real loss), the addition of very useful Streets of Shadow tiles and the indignation of duplicate tile sheets may strike sour, however, evaluating the need (and advantage) of additional street tiles
(and sewer tiles) it makes some sense. I know you can place another 2×2 plain street or statue tile over the fountain, but it is not as flexible as 2 plain 8×8 street/courtyard tiles that I could place my fountain/statue/bench where ever I wanted. (A lament from the earlier sets), but the tiles are still useful.
